# Get Started with Monetization

Set up Helix Monetization, configure inventory, integrate the SDK, and monitor performance.

Helix Monetization lets app owners make app inventory available to Helix demand sources.

With Helix Monetization, you can:

* Add and manage applications
* Create and manage ad units
* Track monetization performance through reporting pages and the reporting API

### Before you begin

You need access to the Helix platform and a supported mediation platform. Helix supports AppLovin MAX and Unity LevelPlay.

Follow these steps to configure inventory, integrate the matching SDK adapter, and monitor performance.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
[**Add your application**](/monetization/add-your-application.md)

Register your app in Helix before configuring its inventory.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
[**Configure ad units**](/monetization/configure-ad-units.md)

Create ad units for the formats and placements in your app.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
[**Configure mediations**](/monetization/configure-mediations.md)

Choose AppLovin MAX or Unity LevelPlay and configure its ad units.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
[**Integrate the SDK**](/monetization/integrate-the-sdk.md)

Install the adapter for the mediation platform you configured.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
[**View reports**](/monetization/view-reports.md)

Monitor early monetization performance after your integration is live.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

After integration, confirm your app sends live ad requests. Then use reports to monitor performance.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.helix.voodoo.io/monetization/get-started-monetization.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
